SimpleArtSites.com powerful, simple web design for free agents and small-scale purveyors of taste
    Design Principles
  • Quality over Quantity: each site we make we have to be proud of. Each page of each site is to convey information important to its intended audiences and only that information.
  • Tidiness before godliness: the risk of data overload and data monotony is rampant in web design, but particularly appalling in the white-cube industry.
  • Information design before Graphic design: web design is not an offshoot of print design, it is the art of engineering manifold users' interactions with complex data along many pathways and axes. Designing surfaces and spreads is best left until there's an architecture to cover-- we design information systems and profile user categories before we even decide how many sites and pages there are to design.
  • Every design, like every person, has its price: we strongly encourage itemizing in advance the various functions of a site and other aspects of a given project to make sure everything the site does, and that we do for the site, is worth it.
    Business Principles
  • Client maintenance: all our sites are updated and maintained by our clients, from the content to the business hours to the contact information. No marked-up maintenance down the line for "the little things", no delays-- the site is always updated as soon as you can update it, from any computer, with your (or your employees') login and password.
  • Upfront pricing: we bill a flatrate by site type plus a low hourly wage on top, and always try to give quotes accurate to site proposals. Our detailed invoices and progress reports strive to be completely transparent.
  • Collaboration: in an industry where design is everything, we make every effort to coordinate our efforts with whatever other designers, current and previous, have worked on our clients' image and presence. We are anything but primadonnas when it comes to Other People's Designs.
